Jessie Juusola, PhD

Meet the Founder

Jessie founded Anchor Outcomes in 2021 with a passion for quantifying impact in healthcare and a vision to build something different in the digital health space. 


Jessie is a skilled health outcomes researcher, data-driven strategist, and focused problem solver. She holds BS, MS, and PhD degrees in industrial engineering from Stanford University, where her graduate research focused on mathematical modeling of health policy and cost-effectiveness analysis.


Prior to founding Anchor Outcomes, she was a founding team member at Evidation Health, building clinical research and operations teams from the ground floor. She partnered with a wide range of healthcare innovators to conceptualize, design, and execute outcomes studies and projects. Earlier in her career, she spearheaded health economics and reimbursement strategy initiatives at a genomic diagnostic company and led market research projects for biopharma clients as a consultant at ZS Associates. 


She is widely published in high impact medical journals, including general medicine (e.g., Annals of Internal Medicine), disease-specific (e.g., American Heart Journal), and digital health-focused (e.g., Journal of Medical Internet Research).

Shefali Kumar, MPH

Principal Consultant

Shefali brings over a decade of health outcomes expertise to Anchor Outcomes, specializing in developing and executing strategic evidence generation plans to demonstrate the clinical and economic value of digital health solutions. 

Before joining Anchor Outcomes, Shefali led various health outcomes and economics initiatives at Verily Life Sciences, where she created long-term evidence generation plans and designed outcomes studies for digital health products. Prior to that, she led the Health Outcomes Research team at Evidation Health, advising various healthcare clients and stakeholders on outcomes data and evidence strategies. There she managed the design, analysis, and dissemination of findings for over 20 outcomes studies. Shefali’s experience also includes economic consulting at Analysis Group, where she supported pharmaceutical clients through product launches and the formulary decision-making process.

Her work has been published in academic journals and presented at industry and academic conferences. Shefali received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University, and her MPH from Yale University.
